About Us

NeverBlock was created to provide the most reliable datacenter-hosted server solutions possible, while remaining significantly more affordable for our customers than is availble using dedicated servers.

The dream is reality thanks to NeverBlock's use of quality hardware, quality datacenters and all the hard work we've put into developing and extending NeverBlock's Virtualization Managment (VirtMan) technologies.

The Quality

They say that, "The proof is in the pudding," and NeverBlock's "pudding" is our customers' experiences; over 85% of Neverblock's customers reported zero (0) downtime for 3 years in a row.

NeverBlock has been a small company and we have taken things slowly, ensuring that our infrastructure was more than up to the task of handling our customers needs. Still, we were providing virtual servers for nearly 2 years before any other hosting provider.

The Reason

The whole point of what we do at NeverBlock is that our customers should have the most reliable servers available. If our customers were unhappy, we wouldn't be successful and would fade away into the graveyard where so many others have gone before. That hasn't happened because of our unwavering commitment to providing our customers with what they need at a fair price and then exceeding their expectations for quality, performance, reliability and support. The Founders

NeverBlock was co-founded in 2004 by Derek Carter and Lamont Peterson, two friends who met as co-workers at Guru Labs, writing courseware and teaching Linux, open-source and security classes. Both have taught for many of the Fortune 500 as well as several government and military agencies.

Collectively, Derek and Lamont have over 40 years of computer and networking experience, plus nearly 30 years of Linux and UNIX experience.

The Technology

NeverBlock has built our Virtualization Management technologies (VirtMan) on top of Xen virtualization. VirtMan makes the performance and reliability of yuor NeverBlock VPS second to none.

The Platforms

At NeverBlock, we also offer you more operating system (OS) choices than any other VPS or managed dedicated server provider. It wasn't hard, we merely had to offer 2 choices, but that wasn't enough for us, so we currently have multiple versions of five (5) different Linux distributions available, with 2 more planned for availability by the end of 2007. Additionally, we will soon offer Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and NetBSD. We are evaluating the idea of offering OpenSolaris, but have not yet commited to doing so.
